Overview
In collaboration with the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), we developed the Vector Watch, a cutting-edge web application that transforms how we track and combat vector-borne diseases.
This project leveraged AI and machine learning to create sophisticated models that predict vector occurrence, disease transmission, species behavior, and insecticide resistance. We built a scalable, AI-ready database and implemented GeoServer with intelligent middleware to enable seamless sharing of geospatial data.
The result is a generic web platform featuring dynamic visualizations and interactivity, ML-driven tools, empowering researchers and public health officials with the insights they need for informed surveillance and decision-making of any tropical disease.
What we did
- A web platform that maps vector-borne diseases and their carriers
- Machine-learning models for vector presence, disease spread and insecticide resistance
- Scalable, AI-ready database with map services
